Church & Religious Site Tours

North Sulawesi is 87% Christian with a large number of historic and beautiful churches and monuments. As a result, we go to mostly Christian sites and if you are on our Sunday tour, we can organise for you to join one of the congregations and be welcomed into a local service.
We can customise your tour to suit your specific interests. Our most popular destinations are Bukit Kasih, meaning “Hill of Love” is a spiritual site, featuring religious monuments and houses of worship for five different faiths, Monumon Tuhan Yesus Memberkati, an impressive large statue of Jesus, Klenteng Ban Hin, the oldest Taoist temple in Manado and a significant landmark for the city’s Chinese-Indonesian community. Its name means “Palace of Ten Thousand Blessings”, Bukit Doa Mahawu, a Catholic hillside prayer site with outdoor statues representing Bible scenes and a chapel with spectacular views over Tomohon. Hindu temple Vihara Budhayana and Gereja Tua Sentrum Pineleng, Sulawesi’s oldest church from 1829.
